Okay, look- I am a personal trainer. I know my clients lie to me when they say they only had the 6 inch Meatball Marinara from Subway when really they scarfed the 12-incher that rings in at over 1400 calories. It happens every week- “Its my birthday,” “it’s a going away party,” “its Thanksgiving,” “it’s Christmas,” “its my mom, she made me eat 5 platefuls…”
REALLY? Stop it. Either you want to get thin or you want to stay fat. Choice is yours. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE AN EXCUSE TO OVEREAT-none of them are good.
Let’s break this down-it takes 3500 calories burned to lose a pound. Your body needs about 1200-1700 to survive. After chicken wings, cake, chips and salsa, guacamole, a few sodas, a few beers, a slice of pizza (But James, its only one slice! Save it.), you can eat upwards of 3000 to 4000 calories! In a one hour visit to the gym, you could burn 300-700 calories. Even if you burn 700, if you ate 3000 you still have 2300 to go-FROM ONE DAY’S WORTH OF FOOD EATEN OVER A PERIOD OF 5 HOURS!
Seriously, be careful. Have a few, slow your eating, enjoy the game. Good luck!
