Recomended books to read in 2023
A few years ago, I reached out to my network of coaches and started a list of book recommendations. We are now up to 180 great reads for coaches. I break the list into four categories: leadership, culture, mental game, and self-help. You can get the whole list here for free.
We are starting a coach book club for 2023. We meet virtually twice a month on Sunday at 5pm CST. Click here for more information. There are a few spots left, and we kick off Sunday, December 18th. No book yet, just to say hello and meet fellow coaches.
Here are some of my favorite additions for 2022:
The Upside of Stress: Why Stress is Good for You, and How to Get Good At It, Dr. Kelly McGonigal
The Tyranny of Talent: How it compels and limits athletic achievement… and why you should ignore it, Joe Baker
The Rise of Superman: Decoding the Science of Ultimate Human Performance, Steven Kotler
Take Back the Game: How Money and Mania Are Ruining Kids' Sports--and Why It Matters, Linda Flanagan, Abby Craden, et al.
Never Finished: Unshackle Your Mind and Win the War Within, David Goggins
Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life, Nir Eyal
Greenlights, Matthew McConaughey
Do Hard Things: Why We Get Resilience Wrong and the Surprising Science of Real Toughness, Steve Magness
I hope you find a few valuable selections. You can get the whole list here, and if you want more information about the book club, click here.
